Nobody
knows Mindoro better than a Mindoreno himself.
Capitalizing on his home province's natural gifts and growing
commercial and industrial appeal, Congressman Rodolfo G. Valencia
(RGV) of Oriental Mindoro aggressively steers the tourism
and business potentials of Filipiniana Calapan Resort Hotel. As
chairman of this 4-star de-luxe hotel, RGV taps into the
reserves of nature, health and wellness among others, to meet
customer demands amid today's fast-paced, technology-driven lifestyle.
A realtor before entering the political arena, RGV started selling
real estate at age 16. From this launching pad, his career took
off in spectacular fashion, culminating in a TOYM award for the
field of human settlements in 1983.
Then politics beckoned. He gained a seat in Congress in 1987,
became Governor for nine years, went on a brief hiatus from politics,
then returned to the House of Congress to once again serve his
beloved island province.

His
political accomplishments are likewise exceptional: He has successfully
initiated projects to uplift the lives of his fellow Mindorenos,
notably in the aspects of peace and order, transportation, tourism,
agriculture, energy and of course housing. His accomplishments
gained for him countless awards and recognition, including his
being named as Most Outstanding Governor by former Presidents
Fidel V. Ramos and Joseph E. Estrada for his good governance.
Now, RGV ably straddles the fields of politics and real estate
as he sets his sights on viable aspects of development such as
tourism to further boost
Oriental Mindoro's economy and elevate the quality of life of
Filipinos. As he utilizes these tools, he likewise contributes
to the country's tourism program, leisure and property market
with notable projects like the Filipiniana Calapan Resort Complex.
